An extreme weather warning has been issued for southern Gran Canaria and the western Canary Islands.
Gusts may reach up to 130 kmph in the southern half of the island tonight, while wind gusts of up to 170 kmph are expected in the western islands.

As a precaution, the Canarian Government has ordered all schools to be closed tomorrow throughout the islands.
