Gran Canaria has become a popular Rock Climbing Destination in recent years, thanks to it’s Craggy Volcanic Terrain, Year-round Accessibility and the ever-increasing number of Routes.

Volcanic Eruptions and Erosion have created a Natural Climbing Theme Park with Vertical Sea Cliffs, Cracks, Plates, Chimneys, Overhangs, Wedges and Ceilings.

Climbing is possible nearly everywhere on the Island, including the emblematic Roque Nublo, although there are some restrictions in some archaeologically and environmentally sensitive areas as well as Military and Private property.


Most of the Sports and Boulder Climbing sites are to be found in the Canyons of the south of the Island, particularly around Fataga and Santa Lucia.
