Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
Las Palmas is the capital of Gran Canaria and is, by far, the biggest city in the Canary Islands, with a population of about 400,000. It is a truly cosmopolitan City, having seen immigration from just about every corner of the Globe.Since it's founding in 1478, the City has played an important role in Atlantic Trade and survived Pirate Attacks and several changes in it's economic fortunes.
