Taxis

Taxis are a convenient means of Transport inside and between Gran Canaria’s main Resorts, the Airport and Las Palmas, however sightseeing the interior of the Island’s winding roads via Taxi would require deep pockets.

It is normally quite easy to hail a Taxi in the street around Playa del Inglés, Maspalomas and San Agustin – Spanish Taxis display a green light when they are available. Fares inside this resort typically cost between 3 and 5 Euro, making this the easiest way to get around within this area.

Taxis between the Main Towns can cost quite a bit more (once they leave the Tarifa Urbana Zone), although normally the price of longer journeys can be negotiated with the Driver beforehand.

Unfortunately Taxi drivers are limited to picking up passengers only in their home municipality. This means that a taxi taking passengers from Puerto de Mogan to Gran Canaria Airport is forced to return to Mogan empty.

Typical Fares
This is intended to give a rough idea of fares – there are extra tariffs at Night, on Sundays, on Public Holidays and for call-outs.

Airport to San Agustin/Playa del Inglés/Maspalomas: 25 – 40 Euro
Airport to Puerto Rico: 45 – 50 Euro
Airport to Las Palmas: 20 – 30 Euro

The easiest way is to ask the hotel reception to call the taxi for you. You can call a taxi yourself at (+34) 928 154 777.
