If you are looking for a quiet holiday, with no late-nights, then don’t go to Playa del Inglés!
Playa del Inglés is one of Europe’s biggest Holiday Resorts and is dedicated to Sun, Sand and Nocturnal Fun. The Resort itself is made up of fairly high-density multi-storey Apartment Blocks, although there are more Bungalows at the Maspalomas end.
The development of the resort began during the 1960s, however local authorities are now putting substantial efforts into renovating and renewing the older parts. Despite the night-time revelry, it has to be said that the resort is kept clean and tidy by the local council.
The resort is predominantly British, though it attracts plenty of tourists from elsewhere in Europe, particularly from Germany, Scandinavia and Ireland.
Playa del Inglés is also famous for it’s Gay Scene, much of which is centred around the Yumbo Commercial Centre. The resort caters for most tastes though, with plenty of Irish Bars, Discos and Live Music.
The Restaurants try to cater for everyone, so there is plenty of ‘International’ cuisine, Fast Food, Chinese Food, Pizza and English Breakfasts on offer – though you may have to search hard to find a traditional Canarian Meal of Fresh Fish and Papas Arugadas.
